Catching Up

 OK well so sorry its been such a long time! Revision ya know... Here are my buys from an Oxfam trip with Stan this morning- one of the few times Ive left the house, although it is bound to get worse no that I am officially on study leave!A daunting thought? Yes. First is a dark red leather handbag with an adorable little clasp- will take it on the upcoming Brighton trip! Next is the vest, Im so excited to wear it but its a bit hot at the moment so it will be saved for a rainy day.

 My street party outfit- see my new Midi skirt! I bought it for £15 in the topshop sales! Aside from it being quite static, it is great fun to wear. The is a slightly boring outfit as it is all Topshop..

 View from the back garden- its lambing season so there are hundreds of really cute newborn lambs everywhere.

So thats basically all I had to share from my camera (I temporarily lost the lead thus the long wait) but there will be another post about Livvie's birthday evening either later today or tomorrow.

London Happenings

So it cant have missed your attention that the Kate and WIlliam wedding was today and if you watched the whole thing, like me (naturally I was doing science papers at the same time) you will of course have been stunned by Kate's dress...

I must admit, It was a slight anticlimax as Sarah Burton's (See older post about her here) design being used was predictable but if Im honest I dont think Kate could have found a dress more perfect for her.
The lace sleeves and the fine detailing at the bottom of the dress made me feel completely overwhelmed by the whole affair! Actually I'm not sure I can quite put that dress to words it was just so beautiful!
But Kate's dress wasn't the only McQueen on the aisle, her maid of honour, Pippa Middleton was also wearing a Burton dress with amazing neck detailing.

The younger bridesmaids looked absolutely adorable in their dresses too.
And Prince Harry in his uniform...

Annyyyway...it was a beautiful ceremony and some of the hats were adventurous- in particular Eugenie's and Beatrice's!

As also expected the balcony kiss (or should I say kisses) was really sweet.
My only complaint is the Queen's bright yellow...maybe not her best colour!

Sunshine

Im going to start this post by doing the ultimate English thing; commenting on the weather. All I have to say about the past few days is..Wow. I spent the long weekend up in Yorkshire and even there it was hot hot hot!
Weather aside, I have been cooped up inside revising and apart from watching a James Bond or two (Why couldn't I have been born a Bond Girl??) and attending my cousin, Keziah's 18th Birthday Lunch with the whole family, I haven't really done much! A quick apology for my rescent absence in the blogosphere. Revision supposedly takes priority... All the same here are some photos of some of the things I've been wearing all week.

Back to Basics

I have a small confession to make. My 'no time for shopping' plan has seemingly...not worked.
It started well, until I bought a Ted Baker silk shirt in The Children's Society, after came the gloriously garish floral pleated maxi skirt in Motto, then I ordered an aubergine deco print midi skirt in the Topshop clearance (£15!) and today I took the final step. Mum-shopping.
In my defense, my purchases are perfectly justified- I no longer have my school uniform and a large percentage of my clothes are deemed by the 6th Form dress code "inappropriate".
I realised after my, what can only be termed a shopping spree, that I must have tuned in to my subconscious Gok Wan, as what I have is a totally interchangeable capsule wardrobe! There are all the classic staple items that I probably should have had already- a white T-Shirt, Black cami, Denim shirt etc. And what is more I did the whole shop in too shops- Topshop (naturally) and Mango- my new favourite highstreet shop! I am almost excited to go back to school now! Actually...maybe not... GCSEs are shockingly close and I can truthfully say that I have really been working. It is not enjoyable- especially with the beautiful weather that we are having at the moment but I am far too distractable to be able to work outside so I have sat at my desk. Most of the day, everyday. In the breaks, I have started to tidy my room. Not an easy thing and a task which I prefer to avoid. If you have seen the state of my room, you will understand.
I have made it my goal of the holiday to really really master the walking in sky high heels thing. Yes I can walk in them but if I need to run for the bus or something, could I make it?? As a result on the few occasions that I have actually left the house, it has not been in flat shoes (aside from going to the gym- I will admit to trainers for that) and it is not going badly! So far no trips/falls/slips/twists. On the contrary, I have been as graceful as I have ever been! Apart from one painful blister. Which was ironically from my trainers.
Right! Back to work I guess...

Salamanca

Im back! Feeling ridiculously out of touch with the world after 2 weeks out- it doesn't help that I am now immersed in GCSE revision which, as Im sure you can imagine is making my life an utter dream (SARCASM). On the plus side I have finished my book (The Girl Who Played With Fire- Larsson comon everyones read it) which has been proving to be a distraction from Topic 2, Nazi Germany... Im giving you warning now that until exactly the 22nd of June, I will be living a fairly reclusive existence with little shopping and few outfits to record- unless I post about my trackies and you have my word that no matter how desperate the situation gets, I will not sink to such measures...But for now I have some outfit snaps of my time in Spain ( Salamanca then Valencia with my family). While on the topic, you would not believe how hot it was! Sadly I hear that I missed all the hot weather in England...But the photos:

Me, Holly and Rosie, my lovely roomie.

As you can probably tell from the pictures my lipstick shade of the moment is bright red (thanks Barry M) and I cant name any member of my family who doesnt hate it with a passion.... but i like and thats all that matters! Rosie and I stayed with a really sweet old lady near the language school we were studying at and she was an amazing cook so all was good there! The thing that is best about spanish shopping is the shoe boutiques! The shoes are nice and they are so cheap! Well in comparison to our great british highstreet. Having said that, after a night out with them, the feet are not feeling their best....

To conclude, I loved every second of spain from our Flamenco lesson to the 2 hour grammer lessons..(ok love is a strong word) and I am bored of England and it's house arrest aready. Its only been a day!
