Masquerade

On Saturday, I finally turned 17 and to celebrate, I hosted a Masquerade ball! Since the legendary Vogue Paris ball, it has been something on the agenda and during the long months of revising and reclusiveness I hit the drawing board. The level of enjoyment I get from party planning is almost equal to the enjoyment of the actual event so it was no chore!
The guest list and dress code was sorted by the end of April so aside from last minute touches, the day itself featured only desperate attempts to work around the weather. Which was not very nice. It illuminated to me my indecisiveness as I struggled to decide on an outfit until approximately an hour before it started. But I got there in the end!

This is us before things got started ('us' being myself, Susie, Moom, Stan and Maral), looking thoroughly dressed up!
So the dress you see here is the one that made the cut- I managed to scoop it up in the Urban Outfitters sale, obviously making me slightly euphoric that I had a perfect dress and a bargain! I had a number of dilemmas though as my hair is pink which very much eliminated my options in certain colours, more specifically the emerald green gown I originally had my eye on! The shoes were from a boutique in Salamanca ( once again getting good use!). I did discover one of the pros of having a party at my own house was being able to slip upstairs and change into flat sandals after the feeling started to return to the toes accompanied by excruciating pain. (And no, I am not being at all overly dramatic)

 Us again, maskless!

Above is a selection of some of the lovely ladies who attended, all dressed spectacularly I think you will agree! (excuse the slightly blurry last couple) I was even more impressed with the fact that all the bos managed to suit up and obtain some form of mask, which I admit was always slightly hit and miss!
A very successful (in my opinion at least) evening overall, with loud music and general merriment- still cant get iver the being 17 thing. Madness. Ive been let loose on the roads of Surrey as well which is bad news for anyone nearby so if you see me behind the wheel of a car, I'd advise you to take cover! Only joking, Im not too bad!
Anyhow, more posts to follow, although not in any form if chronological order but oh well!
