Sun, Sand and Sea

After a beautiful two weeks in Barbados with my family (where the pictures below are set) and a further week in Spain staying with my grandparents, the summer holiday is drawing to a close and I have reached that panic stage when I realise I have a huge amount of work still left to do, I have no idea which A-level to drop (coincidentally, I decided yesterday that the decision is too hard and I'll just do them all- what can I say, I enjoy spending time at my desk...a joke) and which degree courses I should take. So this final week is the end of working at the leisurely, unhurried pace I have been practicing and the beginning of waking up at 7am. Well, starting tomorrow.
Barbados is such an amazing place, with a beautiful clear blue sea and quiet beaches. The marine life is equally good, with an abundance of sea turtles and explosions of brightly coloured fish on the reef. As scuba diving is literally my favourite thing in the world, I managed to do a bit of that (although trust me, the wet suit is not worth blogging about!) and plenty of free diving and snorkeling. I am missing it particularly now that England weather has returned to uniform rain.

This dress is from Zara and after spending such a large proportion of the season referencing Louis Vuitton's collection for DeAvenue, it very much reminded me of the fabric and cut of his beautiful gowns and so felt rather special for me. That sounds kinda weird, I know, but hey I am kinda weird!
I wore it a number of times, for lunch and cocktail parties- only going to show its versatility, one of the great things about a good white dress. For me though, this dress is an absolute summer favourite that was an absolute joy to wear. Shame England is so cold and wet really because it will be out of action for I while I think...
As well as Vuitton, in a final goodbye to S/S '12, I say adieu to Prada's mouthwatering collection with my cat eye sunnies, by Marc by Marc Jacobs. The coral wedges are from Topshop and are always worth the struggle to walk with their pop of pink- blush colour.
