Tenerife

My absence from the internet this week is due to a very lovely family holiday to Tenerife to celebrate my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary! Tenerife is an amazing island, and we stayed in Garachico, by the beach and then in a Parador at the top of a volcano. Pretty contrasting really and the volcanic rock makes a very...weird scenery.

This was taken by the beach in Garachico. You probably noticed already but polka dots are currently my favourite print and midi my favourite cut so this dress was essentially perfect for my holiday needs. It seems to be cropping up all over the place on various actresses and Fearne Cotton (LOVE HER) so Im sorry I dont do the dress justice in that sense. (see below) Who do you think wears it best out of those 4?

Images- Google

Outside the amazing la Roque Hotel where we stayed!
I'm Wearing
brogues- office
dress- Topshop
sunnies- Marc by Marc Jacobs

We now get to the particularly bizarre scenery at the top of the volcano. It made me nervous to walk past half of these rocks because they look so precarious!

We went on a number of hot walks around various craters so I dressed accordingly in:
boots- River Island (and I fear they will never be worn again after 3 long years of service (aka being worn 5 times a week) as they are beginning to get a hole at the front and significantly less heel at the back, not to mention the broken zips! )
trousers- Topshop
T-shirt- freebie at LFWend 2008
cardigan- either topshop or H&M- ill get back to you on that

Always the joker, Davo managed to slip in a few army jokes about the boots-trousers combo but to be honest, its a definite step up from the mexican poncho jokes.....
Here is an example of how weird the scenery was- the vegetation was purely odd! There was not a huge amount of wildlife up there either so it was like being in a desert.

It was all good fun and I was in desperate need of a holiday after spending the past few weeks in the school production of Guys and Dolls (thus why I have been neglecting Pretty Things) which was also great to be a part of despite the fact that I had to wear a bonnet.... Not one I'll be blogging about I tell you now! I made the terrible mistake of buying Company Magazine's High Street Edit at the airport on the way so most of my week was consumed by desperate need of various shoes/boots/coats (omg the coats!!!) and skirts. Whoever came up with the idea of putting everything I need from the highstreet in one magazine has it in for my bank account.
For the first time in my life, I am dressing up this Halloween for a party and I have literally no idea what Im doing so Im taking inspiration from our old friend Rayanne Graff and rolling with that. Watch the space for more!
Also, there is something very very very exciting happening tonight but you will have to wait for me to post to find out!!!!
All my love
LB xx

  1. The bonnet was absolutely brilliant and I shall hear no other opinion on the subject.

Also, the first picture is gorgeous.

But would be improved by a bonnet.
