Saltaire

Near to Bradford, there is a small town called Saltaire, which is basically many many old terraced houses surrounding an old mill. The mill was converted into a very stylish shop of sorts, with original David Hockney pieces all over. The bottom floor sells any art supply you can think of, and I am yet to visit without spending too much of my limited budget on brushes and books... There are a couple of restaurants, one of which is a cafe set within some of Hockney's opera sets, a book shop and a designer furniture shop. We usually go once or twice a year and it is always a treat (if you are near, you absolutely must pay it a visit!) perfect for a rain day! But anyway, enough promotion, I bought some lovely notecards for thank you notes which are beautiful, hazy Polaroid snapshots which I am rather excited about!

This is a painting of Salts Mill and Saltaire by David Hockney (Source, panoramio.com)

I am wearing- vintage Levi 901s (again sorry!), dr martens (also again, sorry!), denim shirt- mango and jumper Topshop. Bit of a double denim thing going on there!

Obviously this is the last post of 2011, which is a bizarre feeling- where has the year gone? But I want to take this opportunity to thank all my readers for their continual support and for reading my ramblings!
Any good new years resolutions? One of mine is to spend less on clothes..
Happy new year!
